From a media release:
The Movie Network and Movie Central present comedy/reality series The Right Hand
Premieres Oct 6/7
Toronto, ON – A new reality series is set to launch this fall and, with its racy subject matter, it’s also poised to turn a few heads. The Right Hand is claiming a late-night spot on The Movie Network and Movie Central in October, presenting a docu-realist perspective into its risqué but comedic subject matter – the porn industry.
Legally known as Dan Leal, Porno Dan is the CEO of Immoral Productions, a film production company producing more than 100 videos a year and specializing in creating cross-platform XXX adult videos. Tall and slightly overweight with bleached blonde hair, a never-ending party persona and the brains of a businessman, Dan is every cliché of the porn industry one could imagine.
“You want to hate him, but you can`t help loving him,” said co-creator and executive producer Richard Arnold.
EWL Media approached Matt Austin-Sadowski to help create and direct a provocative new television show around Dan’s real-life hijinks. The 12 half-hour episodes are seen through the eyes of Dan’s newly hired production assistant, Brandon MacIntosh, a small-town film school graduate from Ayr, Ontario who applied for the job on Craigslist and was hired. He never imagined he would end up working in the porn industry, let alone be filmed for a reality show. The Right Hand is a coming-of-age story that follows the awkward, hilarious and unbelievable experiences MacIntosh and Porno Dan encounter as TV’s new Odd Couple.
“Dan and his friends don’t actually think their life is that interesting or humourous,” said Austin-Sadowski, co-creator and director. “In reality, they're like watching a train-wreck in the middle of a circus. The Right Hand is an honest look at the adult film industry.”
• The Right Hand premieres on Movie Central beginning Thursday, October 6, 12:30 a.m. MST, and on TMN beginning Friday, October 7 at 11:30 p.m. EST.

Great post! We just recently learn about the Right Hand. We were so interested in learning about the show that we interviewed one of their Executive Producers, Rich Arnold, to learn more about how they came up with the concept and then ultimately shot it and launched it.
ReplyDeleteWe just posted that video interview up and if you and your readers are interested they can watch it here:

As a follow up just wanted to let your readers know that we also interviewed Porno Dan as well. Figured might as well get the perspectives from both the producer and main stars of the show.
