Award winning chanteuse Daniela Nardi
LulaWorld 2011: The New Canadian Songbook
May 18, 2011 - Lula Lounge - Toronto

Award winning Italian-Canadian chanteuse, Daniela Nardi, will be joining in this multicultural music fest, May 18th, showcasing her latest project, Espresso Manifesto for this true celebration of Canadian music and the overall musical enrichment of our cultural fabric.
A U.S. residency last year reawakened award-winning vocalist and composer Daniela Nardi to her Italian heritage. "I went to New York for some creative time, to be inspired, take in new sounds. I didn't think or expect I'd come back wanting to sing and write in my mother tongue – Italian."
This transition in focus resulted in her 3rd recording, Espresso Manifesto – a collection of timeless Italian songs set within the context of Nardi’s signature blend of cool jazz, nujazz-world-electro, Brazilian music and soul. A strong collection of songs by respected Italian singer-songwriters like Cantautori, Paolo Conte, Luigi Tenco and Gino Paoli, help transform Espresso Manifesto – together with strong originals – into a revelation of Italian song, innovative arrangements and deep grooves.
Audience reactions to the Italian songs included in her live sets taught Nardi “to dig deeper into the work of some of Italy's most revered songwriters."

Espresso Manifesto follows Nardi's critically acclaimed One True Thing (Smooth Jazz Award Group of the Year nominee, 2006) and The Rose Tattoo and marks her first collaboration with her husband – renowned jazz pianist, Ron Davis.
Slated for release this fall, expect to be blown away by Nardi at Lulaworld 2011 as she reveals the latest chapter in a vibrant musical career!
